Message from S. Charanjit Singh Chadha

"Education is the process of exposure, exploration experiment and experience. Our aim is to develop young minds by spreading knowledge and dispelling the darkness within and thus illuminating the world outside."

The Chief Khalsa Diwan is the oldest and respectable socio-religious organization of the Sikhs. Established in 1902, it has made commendable contribution in promoting Sikh culture and served the nation and community in the field of education. It goes to the credit of the Chief Khalsa Diwan Charitable Society that, in the social sphere, the founders of this organization established the Central Khalsa Orphanage at Amritsar where the orphans are admitted without any consideration of caste and creed. It looks after the destitute, orphan and blind children. As perhaps one of the oldest orphanages in the region, Central Khalsa Orphanage established way back in 1904 in Amritsar has a lot of history associated with it, much like several other places of this city.

It gives me immense pleasure to know that the institution is coming up with its website to acquaint the public in general about its various developements.Theorganization has flourished making rapid strides providing solace to the society working for the welfare of underprivileged children. The institution has produced eminent musicians, ragis, parcharaks and men of letters. The great hero of the Independence struggle, Shaheed Udham Singh, lived here with his brother between 1907 and 1919, studying up to matriculation and honing his carpentry skills alongside.

It is and will continue to be a mission of the institution to churn out towering personalities, helping the destitute children and making the community proud towards the accomplishment of this mission, all our endeavours are synergized.
